Job summary

Wellmark is seeking a senior enterprise architecture leader to drive disciplined innovation and incubate data center capabilities across hybrid environments. You will coach architects, turn validated ideas into reusable assets, and guide transitions from pilot to production with clear governance and sponsorship.

This role requires strategic thinking, strong collaboration with security, product, and operations, and a track record of delivering enterprise-scale outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years in IT with at least 7 years in architecture.
• Proven leadership, coaching, and relationship-management skills.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale architecture initiatives from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture incubation from discovery through production handoff.
• Define stage gates, sponsors, scope, and success measures for incubations.
• Coordinate across engineering, security, operations, product, and vendor teams.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise standards, risk, and cost considerations.
• Create artifacts: reference architectures, patterns, guardrails, and implementation guidance.
• Oversee transition of incubated capabilities to enterprise services.
