Job summary

Stedi is building a healthcare clearinghouse with a headless, API-first platform that enables secure, compliant transactions for millions of patients monthly. We seek a Security Engineering Manager to lead a scaling security function, own strategy, and stay deeply involved in technical work across AWS infrastructure and the SDLC.

You'll manage a team of security engineers in a remote-first environment, drive security projects, and ensure compliance posture while keeping engineering velocity high.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in security or security-adjacent roles, with at least 3+ years in a management role.
• Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC, HIPAA, and HITRUST and control design.
• Hands-on experience in application security and endpoint security.
• Exceptional written communication skills and experience collaborating in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a high-performing security team with ambitious pace and quality expectations.
• Oversee compliance engineering posture to meet SOC, HIPAA, and HITRUST requirements.
• Manage daily engineering efforts, timelines, and resources for efficient project execution.
• Increase accountability by setting clear performance expectations and monitoring progress.
• Continuously assess vulnerabilities, perform risk assessments, and prioritize remediation based on business risk.
• Mentor engineers and foster shared security ownership across the team.
