Job summary

Vanguard is launching the Technology Leadership Program in Risk & Security Engineering for graduates, offering three eight-month rotations focused on secure software development, DevSecOps, and vulnerability remediation.

You will design and build secure systems, collaborate with developers, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders, and gain hands-on leadership experience through capstones and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, IST, IT, CIS, Security, Risk, Cybersecurity or related technical/engineering subject matter.
• Strong interest in software engineering with a focus on security and system protection.
• Familiarity with programming concepts and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance secure applications and systems across Vanguard's technology environment.
• Contribute to implementing security controls and best practices within software, platforms, and infrastructure.
• Assist in identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in applications and systems.
• Build tools, automations, or processes that improve security and operational efficiency.
• Partner with engineering, security, and platform teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.
• Gain exposure to secure software development practices, DevSecOps, and cybersecurity concepts.
• Apply Agile methodologies to support development and security initiatives.
• Take ownership of projects and contribute to delivering high-impact outcomes.
• Collaborate across teams, share insights, and drive solutions in a supportive environment.
• Build a network with program managers, alumni, senior leaders, and peers.
• Meet regularly with your department manager and program manager to receive personalized coaching and mentorship.
