Job summary

GuidePoint Security is seeking a passionate Security Engineer for the Heartland team in Denver, CO. You will leverage foundational network security expertise to deliver hands-on support, design guidance, and security best practices for clients, evolving into a trusted strategic advisor who shapes security posture.

You will collaborate with sales to scope solutions, grow expertise across security domains, and drive architectural decisions that align with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Hands-on network security experience with zero trust, NGFW, micro-segmentation and related concepts.
• Experience with firewall/network security platforms such as Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting methodologies on security platforms (firewalls, routing, NAT, VPN).
• Proficiency across Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
• Understanding of security concepts aligned with CISSP domains (cert not required).
• Ability to produce clear, concise security reports and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource for Heartland clients, delivering hands-on support and security guidance.
• Collaborate with sales teams to scope solutions and present security architectures.
• Develop deep expertise in network security platforms and translate capabilities into business outcomes.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders through empathy and effective communication.
• Produce security assessments, architecture recommendations, and implementation guides.
• Continuously expand knowledge across adjacent security domains toward security strategy.
