Job summary

GuidePoint Security in Denver, CO is seeking a passionate Security Engineer to join our Heartland team. This role blends hands-on network security with strategic advisory responsibilities and close collaboration with clients to shape security outcomes.

You will grow into a trusted advisor, developing architectures, documentation, and guidance for customers while expanding expertise across adjacent security domains and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• Hands-on network security experience with zero trust, next-generation firewalls, AppID, micro-segmentation, and secure access.
• Experience with firewall and network security platforms such as Palo Alto Networks, Checkpoint, and Fortinet.
• Troubleshooting methodologies on network security platforms, including firewalls, routing, NAT, and VPN.
• Proficiency across Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
• Working knowledge of security concepts aligning with CISSP domains (you don’t need the cert, but you understand the landscape).
• Comfortable producing clear, concise reports and documentation related to security incidents, system performance, and recommendations

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource for Heartland clients, delivering hands-on support, design guidance, and security best practices in network security.
• Collaborate with sales to scope solutions, conduct technical discovery, and present architectures aligned with client objectives.
• Build and maintain deep expertise in network security platforms and translate capabilities into business outcomes.
• Develop trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders through empathy and active listening.
• Produce security assessments, architecture recommendations, and implementation guides.
• Expand knowledge across adjacent security domains to become a well-rounded security strategist.
• Embrace emerging technologies, including AI tools, to improve problem solving and outcomes.
