Job summary

Meta is seeking a Security Engineer Lead within Security Foundations to scope, design, and champion security solutions across the company. The role spans identity, cryptography, product identity, AI security, and cloud security, requiring cross-domain leadership and credible risk discussions with C-level executives.

You will own threat models, guide architecture, and drive platform-level security initiatives with engineers, analysts, and product managers.

Qualifications

• B.S. Computer Science or related field required.
• Deep technical expertise in at least one domain and ability to gain credibility quickly in unfamiliar ones.
• Significant experience driving large cross-company engineering initiatives.
• Experience managing security risk and balancing security with friction in a large organization.
• Experience communicating and influencing across functions to drive solutions.
• Ability to operate in high-ambiguity environments balancing technical design with business processes.
• Hands-on engineering experience and ability to lead across Security and Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for security solutions and platforms shared across the company, working through Security Engineering, Security Analyst, and Software Engineering teams.
• Determine the highest-risk items across domains company-wide, then lead development of threat models and solutions.
• Define how AI agents are identified, authorized, and audited across Meta's infrastructure.
• Navigate tradeoffs between security and friction or cost to keep the company moving securely.
• Drive solution design, including technical architecture, and lead implementation as needed.
• Build partnerships across security, infrastructure, corporate engineering, and legal to translate requirements into credible tradeoffs.
• Present tradeoffs credibly to senior leadership (VPs and C-suite) to drive decisions.
