Job summary

American Homes 4 Rent, L.P. is seeking a Security Engineer to monitor, investigate, and respond to security events across our systems and networks. You will work with operations, development, and deployment teams to identify violations and produce clear reports.

You will evaluate new security solutions, support incident response, and contribute to IT security processes and risk management. A strong communicator with hands-on security experience is essential to safeguard our infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in IT security and minimum three (3) years in cloud technologies.
• Experience in vulnerability management and penetration testing; experience in managing SIEM and log analysis; experience in endpoint security; incident management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security events and vulnerabilities across company systems and networks.
• Review alerts, analyze logs, support incident response activities, and assist with vulnerability scanning and remediation.
• Maintain and optimize cybersecurity tools; identify risks; support secure system and application practices; contribute to SOP/Runbook documentation.
• Partner with operations, development, and deployment teams to identify and investigate information security violations; produce clear written reports.
• Research, test, and implement new security solutions to address threats with change management.
• Develop, maintain, and support IT Security Framework processes (incident management, risk management).
• Perform vulnerability scanning, prioritize risk, and track remediation.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents; provide incident reports.
