Job summary

American Homes 4 Rent, LP is seeking a Security Engineer in Las Vegas to monitor, investigate, and respond to security events across company systems and networks. This role partners with operations, development, and deployment teams to identify and address information security risks.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in IT security, cloud technologies, and experience with vulnerability management, SIEMs, endpoint security, and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT security
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cloud technologies
• Experience in vulnerability management and penetration testing
• Experience in managing SIEM solutions and analyzing log streams
• Experience in endpoint security solutions
• Experience in security incident management and reporting
• Certifications such as Sec+, CySA+, SecurityX (CASP+), or GCIH preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, analysis and organizing skills
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Review alerts, analyze logs, support incident response and remediation efforts.
• Maintain and optimize cybersecurity tools; identify risks and support secure practices.
• Collaborate with operations, development, and deployment teams to investigate information security violations.
• Produce clear written incident reports for internal stakeholders.
• Research, test, and implement new security solutions with change management.
• Develop and support IT Security Framework processes (incident and risk management).
• Perform vulnerability scanning and track remediation.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents.
• Provide incident reports as part of the incident process.
