Hebrew SeniorLife in Dedham, MA is seeking per diem Security Dispatchers to operate in the Security Operations Center. This role focuses on radio and phone communications, real-time incident coordination, and monitoring CCTV, alarms, and access control.

Weekend availability (Friday–Sunday) is preferred, with a minimum of one 8-hour shift per month. Responsibilities include dispatching officers, logging incidents, supporting front desk and departments, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Proficient typing and data entry; comfortable with dispatch software.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch Security Officers and staff for alarms, calls, and service needs.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, access control, and emergency devices.
• Log resident check-ins per policy and procedures; track transportation movements.
• Coordinate with drivers to ensure timely, safe service and support front desk and internal teams.
• Maintain clear, professional records of calls and incidents; calendar review and event security coverage.

Job Description:Position Summary:The Security Dispatcher plays a critical role in supporting the safety and well-being of residents, visitors, and staff at NewBridge on the Charles. This position is based in the Security Operations Center and focuses on radio and phone communications, real-time incident coordination, and monitoring safety systems (CCTV, alarms, access control).This is a non-patrol, seated role well-suited for individuals with strong communication skills, situational awareness, and comfort working in a fast-paced dispatch environment.We are currently seeking per diem candidates who are available to work a minimum of one 8-hour shift per month (24 hours per quarter) , with availability primarily on weekends (Friday through Sunday).Key Responsibilities:Dispatch Security Officers and appropriate staff in response to calls, alarms, and routine service needsServe as the point of contact for emergency responders until their arrival on campusMonitor security systems including CCTV, intrusion alarms, access control, and emergency response devicesEnsure resident check-ins are logged in accordance with policy and proceduresTrack transportation movements and coordinate with drivers to ensure timely and safe serviceSupport front desk staff and internal departments by communicating and escalating urgent requests appropriatelyMaintain clear and professional records of calls and incidentsSupport coverage and security for scheduled events by ensuring accurate calendar review and team coordinationPerform other dispatch or administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Security or supervisor on dutyQualifications:Strong verbal communication, situational judgment, and multi-tasking abilityCalm and composed demeanor under pressureStrong typing and data entry skills; must be proficient in Microsoft Office and dispatch softwareFamiliarity with radio dispatch, emergency procedures, and access control systems a plusCustomer service experience in healthcare, residential, or hospitality settings preferredValid driver's license preferred but not requiredMust be reliable, punctual, and willing to accept weekend per diem shifts as neededBLS, EMT, or First Responder certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)High school diploma or equivalent requiredPhysical Requirements:Must be able to sit for extended periods in a control room settingMust be able to communicate clearly over phone and radioPlease refer to Occupational Health documentation for further physical requirements.This role is ideal for individuals who value being part of a mission-driven community and enjoy contributing to a calm, safe, and responsive environment for older adults.
