Cisco Systems, Inc. is offering a Security Consulting Engineer Intern program designed to give undergraduates hands-on exposure to security lifecycle activities.

You will engage with customers, learn how Cisco plans, designs, deploys and optimizes security solutions, and build practical automation skills using common tools and APIs. You will attend design sessions, gather customer requirements, and develop solutions with mentors across US teams while exploring policy creation and collaboration

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program (Associate's or Bachelor's).
• Qualifying education should be in Information Systems, Cyber Security, Computer Networking, Computer Science or Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of IT systems, networking concepts, TCP/IP protocols, network devices and applications, OSI 7-layer model, or code development.

Responsibilities

• Attend on-site design and configuration sessions with a Security Consulting mentor.
• Collect requirements from customers for projects to meet critical business goals.
• Define the business goals and requirements for integration efforts with a team mentor.
• Aid in analyzing and designing policy creation for Identity Services, Firewalls, Visibility Solutions and Cloud-based solutions.
• Analyze customer configurations and provide feedback to improve alignment with customer business goals.
• Learn and understand Security Policies, Standards, Procedures and Guidelines.
• Demonstrate programming languages (Java/Python/C++) and open source automation platforms (Ansible/Chef/Terraform) to develop automation capabilities using Cisco APIs.
