Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. in the United States is inviting applicants for Software Consulting Engineer Intern to collaborate with a mentor and gain hands‑on experience building software solutions within Cisco Secure Development Lifecycle practices.

You will work on real projects, interact with software architects, delivery engineers and CX leadership, and contribute to full stack development using Java, Python, Spring, and DevOps tools across lab deployments and customer engagements.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program (Associate's or Bachelor's).
• Qualifying education should be in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical fields
• Expected to continue enrollment in degree program following completion of the internship.
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
• Development experience using Python, Java, Spring/Spring Boot, JUnit tests.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts
• Experience with UNIX, Linux and Windows Operating Systems.

Responsibilities

• During the program you will participate in day-to-day delivery activities such as coding, customer meetings, deliverable creation, building labs, DevOps, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• You will have the opportunity to leverage your coursework and experience in real-world scenarios as a full stack developer.
• You will likely gather experience in: Java, Gradle, Spring, Python, Ansible
• Automation and testing activities to deliver customer solutions.
