Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a team responsible for evaluating, enhancing, and maintaining a large-scale wired and wireless network infrastructure in a government environment. The role includes design, testing, security patches, and coordination with state and local personnel.

The ideal candidate will have CWNA/BCNE certs, strong routing and switching knowledge, RF/site survey experience (Ekahau, Wireshark), and hands-on VMware/Linux skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, CS, IS, or a related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• CWNA or BCNE certifications.
• Ekahau, RF Scanners, Wireshark experience.
• VLANs, OSPF, VRRP, 802.1x, RADIUS, ACL knowledge.
• Linux, VMware, and Windows Server administration.
• Strong Jira/Wiki documentation skills.
• Agile/SCUM project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the government network infrastructure.
• Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting capabilities.
• Develop and maintain network documentation.
• Review best practices and provide architecture recommendations.
• Define and conduct testing procedures for new infrastructure projects.
• Provide design guidance on network solutions.
• Deliver training and knowledge transfer to staff.
