Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a large scale government network project in Washington, DC. You will help design, implement, and secure wired and wireless infrastructure and coordinate with state/local agencies and vendors.

Role requires hands-on expertise in RF surveys, network security, and modern network management. Join a collaborative team and contribute to high-impact government technology solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• CWNA and BCNE certifications or equivalent required.
• Experience with RF site survey tools and network analysis.
• Strong knowledge of layer 2/3 switching, VLANs, OSPF, VRRP.
• Experience with network security: 802.1x, ACLs, RADIUS, CA.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage government network infrastructure across wired and wireless domains.
• Improve monitoring and reporting using network management software.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation (diagrams, Wiki, Jira tickets).
• Evaluate and recommend architecture and security enhancements for NPS networks.
• Lead testing procedures for new infrastructure projects and integrations.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer on network best practices.
