Job summary

CGS is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a large-scale network infrastructure, including wireless and wired networks, in a government-focused environment. The role involves collaboration with state/local personnel, vendors, and internal teams to deliver secure, reliable networking solutions.

You will oversee testing, vulnerability assessment, and ongoing network optimization, with strong emphasis on documentation and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/CS/IS or related field.
• Strong documentation skills; update tickets, wikis, diagrams.
• Ability to communicate with end users and staff.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum project management.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage network infrastructure (NPS).
• Improve monitoring and reporting with network management tools.
• Develop and maintain network documentation.
• Review and recommend architecture, design and operations.
• Administer onboarding, monitoring, and patching of wireless networks.
• Assess infrastructure for improvements and optimization.
• Define and conduct testing for new projects.
• Implement solutions within the network environment.
• Provide design guidance for network projects.
• Train staff on best practices and operation of network products.
