Job summary

CGS Federal seeks a Senior Lead Network Engineer to evaluate, enhance, and maintain a large-scale, mixed wired/wireless network infrastructure. The role collaborates with government personnel, stakeholders, and vendors to design and implement secure, scalable networks.

Responsibilities include monitoring, documentation, testing, and deployment, with focus on vulnerability assessments and QA to support the new setup. Strong certifications and Linux/Windows/VMware experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.
• Experience with network infrastructure, routing, switching, and security.
• Strong documentation skills including updating tickets and diagrams.
• CWNA Certification or equivalent; BCNE Certification or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools such as Ekahau, RF Scanners, and Wireshark.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage CGS network infrastructure.
• Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting with network management software.
• Develop, maintain and deliver network documentation for NPS environment.
• Review best practices and provide architecture, design, management recommendations.
• Administer onboarding and health monitoring of wireless network infrastructure; apply security patches and updates.
• Assess network infrastructure and recommend improvements and optimizations.
• Define and conduct testing procedures for new infrastructure projects.
• Implement technology solutions within the network environment.
• Provide design guidance on network solutions for infrastructure projects.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to resources on network operations.
