Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a Senior Lead Network Engineer II to lead a large-scale wired and wireless network project. You will design, implement, test, and optimize the NPS network infrastructure, coordinating with stakeholders, vendors, and government personnel.

The role emphasizes security, documentation, and hands-on leadership. You should bring experience with RF site surveys, network protocols, and IT security best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information Systems or related field.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve monitoring and reporting capabilities with network management software.
• Develop, maintain and deliver infrastructure documentation (network diagrams, Jira, wiki).
• Review current best practices; provide architecture, design, management and operation recommendations.
• Oversee Cloudpath onboarding, wireless health monitoring, patching and updates (0800–1700 PST, Mon–Fri).
• Assess NPS network; recommend improvements and optimization.
• Define and conduct testing procedures for new infrastructure projects.
• Implement technology solutions within the NPS network environment.
• Provide design guidance and informal training to NPS staff on network operations.
