Job summary

DPP Tech is seeking a Network Engineer for a government client in Livermore, CA. The role is hybrid/onsite 3-4 days per week, contract with potential to hire. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a DOE security clearance.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Engineering, network design and operation experience, and knowledge of OSPF/IS-IS/BGP, Palo Alto NGFW, and 802.1x. Familiarity with Ansible and Python is preferred for automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field.
• Ability to obtain US DOE Q-level clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with network design, configuration, and operations.
• Familiarity with OSPF/IS-IS/BGP and Spanning-tree.
• Experience with firewall configuration and Palo Alto NGFW.
• Knowledge of 802.1x edge port security.
• Experience with load balancers and related concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, implement, document and operate network systems.
• Collaborate with government client and project teams.
• Prepare architecture documentation and ensure security compliance.
• Assist with network automation using Ansible and Python.
• Maintain Palo Alto NGFW configurations and monitoring.
• Manage edge port security and 802.1x enforcement.
