Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. is seeking a Configuration/Change Manager for our Springfield, VA team. You will manage configuration and change processes to ensure reliable, compliant IT services and accurate CMDB data.

You will drive governance, support CAB activities, and lead process improvements to minimize risk while aligning with DoD/NIST standards. Strong communication and a TS/SCI clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years configuration and change management experience, including leading configuration control boards (e.g., CAB, CRB).
• Experience leading design reviews, configuration audits, and product evaluation to establish/maintain baselines for IT systems/components.
• Experience with CMDB management and oversight.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience drafting technical documents.
• TS/SCI clearance required with ability to obtain CI Poly.
• DoD 8140/CSWF for 641-Intermedediate or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with stakeholders to assess change requests, facilitate CAB activities, and maintain CMDB integrity.
• Define and refine change/configuration management processes; ensure baselines remain current and track lifecycle from initiation to closure.
• Support audits, maturity assessments, and process improvement efforts.
• Analyze trends, identify risks, validate configuration records, and ensure changes align with policies and compliance.
• May assist with audits and ensure transparent, compliant IT service delivery.
