Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries in Springfield, VA, is seeking a Configuration/Change Manager to lead configuration and change management across IT services. You will coordinate with stakeholders, manage CMDB data, and guide CAB activities to ensure controlled, reliable delivery aligned with DoD and IC requirements.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of configuration/change management experience, TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain CI Poly, and hands-on CMDB leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in configuration and change management with leadership of change boards (CAB/CRB).
• Experience leading design reviews and configuration audits to establish baselines.
• Experience with CMDB management and governance.
• Strong written and verbal communication; capable of producing technical documentation.
• TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain CI Poly.
• Must meet DoD 8140/CSWF for 641-Intermediate or obtain credential within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve configuration and change management practices.
• Translate operational needs into structured change workflows and maintain CMDB data.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to assess change requests and support CAB activities.
• Ensure changes are implemented with minimal risk and maximum transparency.
• Support audits, maturity assessments, and process improvements.
• Track lifecycle of changes from initiation to closure.
