Moonrise Hotel in St. Louis, MO seeks a part-time security associate to deter crime through regular patrols and prompt communication of breaches, while maintaining a high level of safety for employees and guests.

This role emphasizes customer service and professional appearance, with weekend and holiday shifts and a pay rate of $16–$17 per hour (negotiable). You will report to the Director of Food & Beverage and follow hotel security protocols to keep the facility secure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; security experience preferred.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Patrol premises to ensure they are secure; may need to navigate ladders, ramps, stairs, and run on occasion.
• Use both hands to reach, grasp objects, use the phone to communicate with home base, or file reports.
• Keep mental alertness and attention to detail high, no matter the circumstances.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance, and provide excellent customer service as needed.
• Follow established security protocols while using initiative and good judgment.
• Work in weather environments that may be extremely hot or cold, snowy or icy.
• Perform other assignments as directed by the General Manager, Security Manager or Food & Beverage Management.

Job Description

Our security team helps deter crime by their mere presence through regular patrols and prompt communication of breaches. Your main job will be to provide top‑quality security at the facility where you work and maintain a high level of safety for employees and guests. Customer service is an important part of the role; you should be oriented toward helping people, not just protecting them.

Position: Part time. Pay: $16 to $17 per hour (willing to negotiate). Schedule: Weekends and some holidays required; PM shifts.

Essential Functions

• ID guests.
• Be aware of laws pertaining to liquor.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication.
• Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening, hearing ability, and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
• Vision occurs continuously; basic near vision and depth perception are required.
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours a day.
• Must pass a background check.
• High school or equivalent education required; security experience preferred.
• At least 21 years old.
• Ability to remain flexible and adapt well.
• Remain calm in stressful situations.
• Proof of Hepatitis A vaccination needed.
