Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a senior Java engineer to own design, development, and deployment of secure Java-based features and services in a fast-paced environment. You will translate requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions, design REST APIs and microservices, and lead complex technical initiatives with a focus on reliability and security.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering large-scale Java applications across multiple implementations.
Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
Experience with relational databases, SQL, stored procedures, and Oracle database replication or performance tuning.
Experience developing and operating applications in Unix or Linux environments.
Experience with containerized platforms and technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Experience with CI/CD and engineering toolchains such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible.
Experience building solutions with cloud services and applying cloud security principles.
Working knowledge of application security vulnerability remediation, secure software development practices, and CVE management.
Ability to lead complex technical work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Own the design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of secure Java-based features and services.
Translate product, business, security, and operational requirements into maintainable solution designs.
Design and implement robust REST APIs and microservices using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
Apply secure coding practices throughout the software development lifecycle and support remediation of CVEs.
Deliver solutions that meet acceptance criteria while managing reliability, maintainability, and performance.
Participate in work breakdown, estimation, design reviews, and delivery execution.
Provide technical leadership for large or complex efforts, including platform upgrades.
Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive durable corrective actions.
Support controls, compliance activities, and audit requests for assigned applications.
Mentor engineers and share reusable practices.
