Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a full-time transport officer to securely move detainees between facilities. You will ensure all vehicles used for transport are safe and well maintained, and perform comprehensive vehicle inspections before, during, and after trips.

You will handle licensing, paperwork, and safety reporting, while confirming all required permits and security measures are in place. This role requires diligence, reliability, and the ability to work overtime and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; valid state requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• CDL with Passenger endorsement at hire.
• DOT training and certification in applicable categories.
• Background and driving record requirements.
• Ability to meet travel and overtime expectations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip, during-trip, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Ensure permits and licenses are valid before trips.
• Maintain and report safety equipment status.
• Complete paperwork and DVIRs accurately.
• Secure detainees during transport and at facilities.
• Follow all safety laws and procedures during transport.
• Notify management in case of accidents or issues.
• Arrange vehicle servicing and pickups as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
