Job Summary
The Security Systems Superintendent is the field subject‑matter expert in all aspects of commercial audio, mass notification, security, access control, CCTV, and life safety systems. The role ensures that contracted work is developed, installed, and managed in accordance with company requirements, including safety, quality, and financial performance standards.
Responsibilities
- Manages project crews, provides training, and ensures adherence to safety and quality guidelines.
- Serves as the senior liaison for operational interface with customer representatives.
- Ensures project deadlines are met and workload is distributed efficiently.
- Monitors project budget and produces accurate project paperwork (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, etc.).
- Conducts quality checks, prevents outages, and assists the Project Manager with job walks.
- Prepares red‑lined as‑built drawings and serves as the main on‑site customer contact.
- Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues on the job site.
- Reviews and improves operational processes such as estimating, purchasing, invoicing, and scheduling.
- Collaborates with the Training Department to monitor quality and safety issues.
- Leads operation meetings and training sessions, and manages tool and truck inventory.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience in security systems, access control, and CCTV.
- Superior troubleshooting skills and knowledge of RS232/RS485, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and related software.
- NICET audio, NICET video security, or CSA certification beneficial.
- Background check clearance and valid Alarm Agent License (or ability to obtain).
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, move up to 75 pounds, work at heights, and operate in confined spaces.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, including reading blueprints and technical documents.
Pay
USD $35.00 – $45.00 per hour.
