Job summary

JVS SoCal is seeking a Sector Focus Specialist to develop sector strategies and build strong ties with employers and industry partners to align training with local labor market needs.

The role requires 3+ years in workforce/economic development, WIOA knowledge, and excellent communication. Willingness to travel across multiple locations and obtain CWDP certification within 3 months of hire is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Workforce Development, Business, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in workforce development, economic development, industry engagement, or related fields.
• Knowledge of WIOA guidelines, local labor market trends, and sector-specific workforce requirements.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and labor market information.
• Experience in building partnerships with employers, educational institutions, and community organizations.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Obtain CWDP certification within 3 months of hire.
• Travel to various locations including businesses, worksites, and events.
