Job summary

JVS SoCal is seeking a Placement Strategist to develop and execute targeted job placement strategies for Veterans and related populations. You will collaborate with team members to align participant skills with local labor market opportunities and engage employers to build openings and training paths.

You will provide individualized job search support, assess fit, and help participants overcome barriers to employment.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Social Work, Career Counseling, or related field (may be substituted for experience).
Passion for working with Veterans and helping them succeed.
Strong customer service and counseling skills.
Excellent communication; multitasking and attention to detail.
Three+ years with priority populations; veteran experience preferred.
Background in Case Management and/or Career Counseling is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and implement job placement strategies aligning participant skills with labor market opportunities.
Engage local employers to secure job openings and placement opportunities.
Develop customized training programs and apprenticeships with employers.
Provide job-search assistance: resumes, interview prep, applications.
Assess participant skills and interests to match with opportunities.
Monitor labor market trends to adjust placement strategies.
Facilitate job readiness workshops and training sessions.
Document progress and prepare reports for program management.
