SECRETARY TO MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

Qualifications
  • High School diploma required (minimum).
  • Typing skills minimum 60 words per minute preferred.
  • Notary Public or willingness to become a notary.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of standard office equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Synergy, and willingness to learn other programs.
  • Able to compose written text using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Understanding of the importance of accuracy in work.
  • Fundamental mathematics skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding students and staff.
  • Neat, well-groomed appearance, dependable with excellent attendance.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well with a variety of people and as part of a team.
  • Self-directed in organizing and prioritizing office work.
  • Tactful, professional, courteous, and able to remain calm under stress.
  • Exhibits emotional stability and physical stamina for the role.
  • Certified or willing to become certified in basic first aid/CPR.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine office tasks and maintain student discipline records.
  • Manage student lockers, chromebooks, and fines.
  • Assist with organizing club schedules, stipends, and after-school events.
  • Support safety drills and standardized testing preparations.
  • Prepare daily announcements and birthday lists.
  • Serve as a point of contact for guest teachers.
  • Maintain student/staff accounts and building budgets.
  • Inventory supplies, textbooks, and place orders.
  • Assist with medical emergencies (CPR certified), and serve on the Medical Emergency Response Team.
  • Handle incoming calls, compose correspondence, and greet visitors.
  • Handle situations calmly and professionally in the absence of administrators.
  • Support school functions and coordinate communications and schedules.
  • Train and supervise office co-op students.
  • Troubleshoot office equipment.
  • Maintain punctual attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
Salary and Application

Salary: $16.06 - $19.65 per hour, based on experience.
