Job Description
This role is based in Baltimore, MD and supports the Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) Engineering Team within the Test Design Solutions Group. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting equipment cooling, vibration, and system test solutions used in environmental, thermal, and vibration testing. This individual will collaborate closely with internal teams and external customers to gather requirements, develop innovative technical solutions, and ensure testing objectives are met. Additional responsibilities include estimating schedules and levels of effort to support program goals, as well as communicating technical capabilities, recommendations, and potential risks to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Compensation for this role ranges from $70/hr to $89/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Active US Government Secret Clearance
5 years of experience with writing and maintaining design specifications
5 years of proficiency with mechanical CAD design tools such as Siemens NX
5 years of experience with test design, maintenance, and repair of cooling and vibration test systems
3 years of experience interpreting electrical schematics and interconnect diagrams Advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering, or related technical fields.
Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
Experience with designing cooling systems that use refrigerant and/or liquid cooling
Experience with integration of hardware
Experience with MIL-STD-810 (Environmental Test Methods)
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills including experience presenting at design reviews and customer/stakeholder briefings
Ability to obtain EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
