Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and execute HVAC, piping, utility, and facility systems for industrial and commercial facilities in Lexington, KY. You will develop design concepts through construction, coordinating with cross-functional teams and supporting commissioning activities.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 4+ years of mechanical design experience, and strong knowledge of codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, IBC).

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Active PE license.
• Strong Revit proficiency required.
• Industrial facility design experience (manufacturing, food & beverage, distribution, etc.).
• 4+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Strong HVAC, piping, utility systems, and equipment design background.
• Experience working in BIM environments and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, IBC, and applicable mechanical codes.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• AutoCAD and Bluebeam experience.
• Mission-critical or data center project experience.
• Controls/automation exposure (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs).
• Energy modeling, commissioning, or FEL/FEED experience.
• Client-facing experience, proposal support, or project leadership.
