Job summary

Serco Inc. in Newport, Rhode Island, seeks a Technical Publications Librarian to manage and control technical documentation for a U.S. Navy MILSATCOM program.

You will collaborate with engineers, logisticians, and government personnel to keep manuals, training materials, reports, and documents current and easy to locate. The role emphasizes document control, configuration management, and handling large volumes of information using established processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or HS diploma with 7 years of relevant experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Experience with technical documentation, document control, records management, and configuration management.
• Experience organizing files on SharePoint or shared network drives.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with large volumes of technical information.
• Knowledge of databases and document repositories.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Update and revise technical documents to current versions.
• Maintain and organize technical manuals and logistics documents.
• Manage document revisions, engineering changes, and updates.
• Store program docs on Government drives, SharePoint, and approved repos.
• Maintain folder structures, naming conventions, and indexes.
• Assist formatting and production of manuals, reports, guides.
• Develop On-the-Job Training materials and work instructions.
• Coordinate with engineers and SMEs to update technical info.
• Maintain document inventories, trackers, and revision records.
• Review and clean up outdated or duplicate files.
• Support data calls, reviews, audits, and RFIs.
