Job summary

Serco Inc. in Newport, RI seeks a Technical Publications Librarian to maintain, organize, and control Navy MILSATCOM program documents.

You will work with engineers, logisticians, technical writers, and government personnel to ensure manuals, reports, and training materials are current and easy to locate. The role emphasizes document control, configuration management, and handling large volumes of technical information using established processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience or a HS diploma with 7 years of relevant experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Experience with technical documentation, document control, records management, configuration management, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Update and revise technical documents to ensure current versions are available for operation, maintenance, and sustainment.
• Maintain and organize technical manuals, engineering documents, logistics products, reports, procedures, and training materials.
• Support configuration and version control of technical publications, including revisions and updates.
• Manage program documentation stored on Government drives, SharePoint, and approved repositories.
• Maintain folder structures, file naming conventions, and indexes to improve findability.
• Assist with formatting, editing, and production of manuals, reports, and procedures.
• Support development of OJT materials, work instructions, and training guides.
• Coordinate with engineers, logisticians, writers, and SMEs to update technical information.
• Maintain inventories, trackers, revision records, and status reports for data and deliverables.
• Support organization of CDRL products and other government deliverables.
• Review repositories to identify outdated or duplicate files and assist cleanup.
