Job summary

Serco is seeking a Technical Writer to support a U.S. Navy MILSATCOM program in Newport, Rhode Island. You will create, revise, and maintain technical manuals, procedures, and training materials in collaboration with engineers, logisticians, and government personnel.

The role requires strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to capture complex technical information clearly. A Secret clearance is required to perform this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or a HS diploma with 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience developing, writing, editing, or maintaining technical documentation.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, revise, edit, and format technical manuals, procedures, reports, guides, and other program documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, logisticians, and subject matter experts to translate technical information into clear written products.
• Support development and maintenance of On-the-Job Training (OJT) materials and reference guides.
• Review existing documentation and update content to reflect system changes, upgrades, and maintenance needs.
• Ensure documents follow established government and program formatting standards.
• Assist with document inventories, data calls, and technical reviews as needed.
