Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Missile Defense Integration in Huntsville, AL, seeks a Software Engineer (BM/SRM) to join the regional applications team. You will develop Java-based software for BM/SRM, work with a diverse group of professionals, and support systems software across design, testing, and deployment stages.

The ideal candidate will have a Secret clearance, strong OO programming skills in Java/C++/C#, plus Python, and a commitment to rigorous unit testing and code quality.

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance required at time of application.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 2 years of experience; or Master's degree with 0 years, or 6 years of experience as an alternative.
• Experience in object-oriented software development with knowledge of search and sort algorithms and data structures
• Proficiency in Java, C#, C++, or other OO languages; Python as desired
• Strong software engineering practices including unit tests and addressing static analysis issues before merging code
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work in a fast-paced team environments

Responsibilities

• Develop software in Java for the Regional Applications team in Huntsville, AL (BM/SRM)
• Provide updates across multiple systems and disciplines and understand customer areas
• Analyze and provide technical support for systems software products including design, development, testing, integration and user support
