Job summary

I2X Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer to support a Colorado Springs-based customer. This on-site role requires an active Secret clearance and hands-on experience with network design, implementation, and hardening across Cisco/Juniper/Palo Alto platforms.

You will implement configurations, patch cycles, and STIG documentation, coordinating with Operations to ensure secure, reliable connectivity for critical programs.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of professional experience.
• Security+ certification required.
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure.
• Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, and/or Juniper firewalls.
• Experience administering and troubleshooting RHEL/Linux systems.
• Experience applying DoD security hardening requirements to network infrastructure.
• Experience with DISA STIG requirements for network devices.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• CCNA/Net+/CCNP/PCNSE certifications highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and plans network communications systems.
• Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Provides information for hardware and software selection and implementation.
• Conducts testing of network design.
• Maintains network hardware/software interconnection knowledge.
• Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities.
• Researches quarterly patches for network devices.
• Performs quarterly network patch integration and testing.
• Updates content in GitLab for quarterly deliveries.
• Writes network installation instructions for Operations.
• Installs quarterly network device patches in lab and production.
• Creates and justifies network device cyber security STIG checklists.
• Provides network support for Cyber Vulnerability Testing.
• Tracks firewall licenses.
• Troubleshoots network outages and anomalies.
• Provides training for network device installations and troubleshooting tasks.
