Job summary

I2X Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer to support a federal program in Colorado Springs, CO. The role requires an active Secret clearance and on-site work with hands-on design, testing, and maintenance of complex network infrastructures.

You will configure firewalls (Palo Alto/Cisco/Juniper), manage Linux systems, and leverage scripting to automate tasks. Strong documentation, patching, and DISA STIG compliance experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance is required and must be maintained.
• Bachelor's degree with seven years of professional experience.
• Sec+ certification is required.
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure.
• Experience building network architecture, diagrams, implementation plans and configuration docs.
• Experience configuring enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper).
• Experience administering RHEL/Linux systems and patching.
• Experience with firewall policies, NAT, routing, VPNs, security zones, and ACLs.
• Demonstrated ability to document procedures, test plans, and troubleshooting guides.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

Responsibilities

• Designs and plans network communications systems.
• Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Offers hardware/software selection details and implementation techniques.
• Conducts testing of network design and patches.
• Maintains expertise in routers, firewalls, and interconnection devices.
• Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities.
• Researches quarterly patches for network devices (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto).
• Updates GitLab content for quarterly deliverables (configurations, licenses, IOS files).
• Writes quarterly installation instructions for delivery to Operations.
• Installs quarterly network device patches in lab and production environments.
• Creates and justifies network device cyber security STIG checklists.
• Provides network support for Cyber Vulnerability Testing.
• Tracks and installs firewall license files and troubleshoots outages.
• Provides training for network device installations and troubleshooting tasks.
