Job summary

I2X Technologies is seeking a Transport Network Engineer II to support a government customer in Illinois, on-site, with an active Secret clearance. Responsibilities include network design, equipment deployment, incident management, and coordinating with vendors and the customer to resolve issues.

Preferred candidates have DoD 8750 IAT II or Security+ CE, and hands-on experience with DWDM, SONET, and CIENA/CISCO platforms.

Qualifications

• Requires BS degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience or Master’s with less than 2 years experience.
• Requires active Secret security clearance.
• Experience with optical transport platforms and DWDM/SONET technologies.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across transport networks.
• Experience with ServiceNow ticketing and customer communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer transport networks; develop procedures and analyze architecture upgrades.
• Deploy new network hardware and monitor traffic impacts.
• Provide incident management escalation support and root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with vendors and customers to resolve problems and schedule maintenance.
• Document MSS database and maintain situational awareness for stakeholders.
