Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an FPGA Engineer to design, develop, test, and support FPGA-based solutions onsite in Baltimore, MD. You will perform FPGA design, simulation, verification, and troubleshooting, and you will create and execute test plans while supporting system integration.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, at least 5 years of FPGA/firmware experience with VHDL, hands-on tool proficiency (Vivado/Quartus), and an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field with 5+ years of professional FPGA/firmware experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
• 5+ years developing FPGA/firmware solutions using VHDL.
• Hands-on experience with FPGA tools such as Vivado or Quartus.
• Experience across the full firmware development lifecycle from requirements to sustainment.
• Strong background in schematic capture, programmable logic design, and hardware troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support FPGA-based solutions onsite in Baltimore, MD.
• Perform FPGA design, simulation, verification, and troubleshooting; create and execute test plans.
• Conduct hardware testing using oscilloscopes and FPGA debugging tools; analyze results to meet performance targets.
• Support system integration and test efforts; manage timing and power constraints.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable digital solutions.
