Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Annapolis, MD seeks a leader to manage the mechanical drafting team within the Naval & Oceanic Systems unit. You will lead 10–12 designers, oversee design activities, and ensure processes meet production needs.

Qualifications

Master's degree in STEM with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a related combination.
6+ years experience in MCAD design, creating 3D CAD models and drawings of mechanical/electro-mechanical assemblies.
6+ years experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in diverse teams.
US Citizenship with active Secret clearance; ability to obtain TS/SSBI and pass a polygraph.

Responsibilities

Functional management of 10–12 designers; performance management and staffing.
Provide project and technical oversight for design activities.
Maintain and apply design processes and guidelines used in the group.
Develop proposal inputs and review proposal content for internal/external customers.
Collaborate with peer managers for consistency across multiple work groups.
Support department initiatives, recruiting, technology roadmap, cross-campus involvement, and internal projects.
Recruit, interview, and hire new personnel.
Foster employee engagement and knowledge sharing.
