Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Communications Electronics Engineer (Level 2 or Level 3) to join our team either in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo) or Palmdale, CA. The selected candidate will provide engineering support for communications payloads, reporting to the subsystem lead and program manager.

The role requires a US Government Secret Clearance, on-site work, and travel up to 25%. This position may be filled at Level 2 or Level 3 based on qualifications listed; salary ranges

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM disciplines or Master’s with related experience.
• Experience in Communications and Network system integration.
• Active US Government Secret Clearance or eligibility; ability to obtain Top Secret and SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate comms subsystem technical requirements with supplier management.
• Manage suppliers to assess new tech for program requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to evaluate new hardware/software benefits/detriments.
• Collaborate with program management to build schedules and assess risks.
• Address performance concerns using program tools and processes.
• Identify opportunities for subsystem improvements with engineering teams.
• Report comms subsystem status and risks to leadership.
• Provide user support and troubleshooting during test events.
