Job summary

RedBeard Solutions LLC. is seeking a skilled Cloud Network Engineer to design, implement, and operate secure, high‑performance networks spanning on‑premise data centers and cloud environments.

The role focuses on cloud networking, SDN, and container‑native networking within Kubernetes, with most work at customer sites in Huntsville, AL. The candidate should have hands‑on experience with VPCs, VNets, peering, multicast UDP, and SDN/hardware‑defined networking, plus Kubernetes integration via CNI

Qualifications

• Proven experience setting up restricted/compliant networks and securing inter-domain/enclave communication.
• Hands-on experience with cloud networking services (VPC, VNets, peering, transit gateways).
• Experience with Linux OS.
• Practical knowledge of multicast UDP and broadcast UDP traffic handling.
• Experience with both software-defined and hardware-defined networking technologies.
• Direct experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting networking within Kubernetes clusters.
• Ability to create and manage secure routing paths between isolated domains or enclaves.
• Nice-to-have: CNI expertise (Cilium/Calico/Multius), enterprise hosting, policy development, container meshes, cloud-to-cloud routing, hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/IT or related field; 5+ years networking experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy secure networks across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Build and manage cloud networking infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Configure and troubleshoot multicast UDP traffic for high-throughput apps.
• Deploy and maintain SDN platforms and hardware network appliances.
• Integrate network services with Kubernetes using CNI plugins.
• Enable hybrid cloud integration and remote enclave connectivity.
• Automate network provisioning with IaC tools and implement monitoring for security events.
• Collaborate with security, DevOps, and application teams; document solutions and runbooks.
