Sylvania is seeking a Paraeducator for secondary schools to assist teachers and students in middle and high school settings. The role focuses on supporting instruction, supervising students, and liaising with staff across departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be physically working in the building.
• Good communication, interpersonal and record-keeping skills.
• Ability/desire to work with technology and computers.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff.
• Ability to supervise students.
• Ability to take direction.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support students and teachers in specific departments.
• Under the direction of the teacher/administrator, assist students individually or in groups with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
• Audio/Visual Department.
• Guidance, Counseling, and Planning Center.
• Hall supervision and Cafeteria supervision.
• In‑School Suspension supervision.
• Copy Room and Mailroom.
• Media Center.
• Study Hall and Independent Study supervision.
• Behavior Support Rooms.
• Testing support.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
