Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a dedicated Paraeducator Secondary to support students and teachers across middle and high schools. This full-time role involves helping with lesson tasks, supervising various areas, and facilitating in-class learning.

Responsibilities include assisting in multiple departments, supervising study halls, and supporting behavior management. The position starts 8/31/26, with insurance for longer daily assignments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be physically working in the building.
• Good communications, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability/desire to work with technology and computers.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff.
• Ability to supervise students.
• Ability to take direction.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support students and teachers in specific departments.
• Assist students individually or in groups under the direction of the teacher/administrator, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
• Assist in the Audio/Visual Dept, Guidance/Counseling/Planning Center, Hall/Cafeteria/Testing supervision, Copy Room/Mailroom, Media Center, Study Hall/Independent Study Supervision, Behavior Support Rooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
