Job summary

Frisco ISD is seeking a Homebound Specialist to provide instruction to students unable to attend school due to illness, typically confinement to home for a minimum of four weeks. Reports to the Assistant Director of Specialized Learning Services.

The role includes implementing 504 accommodations and collaborating with the teacher of record to maintain an effective educational program. The candidate should hold a valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements for the subject/level and be

Qualifications

Education/Certification: Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsed training for subject/level.
Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of needs of students and Section 504 procedures.
General knowledge of core curriculum English, Math, Science and Social Studies.
Flexibility to schedule to accommodate needs of students.

Responsibilities

Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, and materials for subjects assigned.
Assist students in analyzing and improving methods and habits of study.
Assess achievement through formal and informal testing.
Use accessible technologies in the teaching/learning process.
Attend Section 504 meetings as appropriate.
Work collaboratively with the teacher of record to establish educational program.
