Spotsylvania County Public Schools seeks a Homebound Instructor to educate students who cannot attend school, delivering lessons aligned to the curriculum, and maintaining contact with classroom teachers. Instruction may occur at home, a public location, or virtually, per student needs and division guidelines.

The role emphasizes collaboration with families, regular progress reporting, and coordination for student transitions back into regular or alternative programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required or currently serving as an Interim Teacher with SCPS.
• Ability to obtain Virginia license(es) and endorsement(s) as required by the Commonwealth and School Board.
• Acceptable prior teaching experience as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Instructs homebound students outside the school setting in an appropriate facility or via virtual means.
• Develops IEPs where applicable.
• Supports case management across eligibility, reevaluation, IEPs, FBAs and BIPs.
• Provides instructional program with appropriate aids and materials.
• Reports student progress in line with division practices.
• Coordinates with division staff for returning students to regular or other programs.
• Meets students on agreed schedules for instruction.
• Maintains cooperative relationships with families.
• Keeps up-to-date knowledge of division technology.

Education

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
