Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools in Houston is seeking a Secondary Dean of Instruction to lead a cohort of teachers, set high expectations, and ensure outstanding instruction across content areas. You will observe classrooms, coach teachers, and use data to guide practice, partnering with the Principal and Director of Academics.

The role includes planning professional development, coordinating in-service days, and pursuing a one-year credentialing track to become a YES Prep Teacher Evaluator.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
• A valid Texas teaching certificate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a cohort of teachers.
• Set and uphold clear expectations and standards for excellent teaching in all content areas.
• Observe and evaluate a cohort of teachers to ensure outstanding instruction.
• Monitor progress toward campus goals using assessment data to improve instruction.
• Plan and deliver professional learning opportunities across in-service days and professional development days.
• Complete a one-year credentialing track to become a YES Prep Teacher Evaluator.
• Participate in district-led professional development for instructional leaders.
