Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools in Houston is seeking a Dean of Students for an 11-month term starting in the 26-27 School Year. You will lead student support initiatives, analyze data to drive improvements, and coach Grade Level Chairs to strengthen campus systems and culture.

The role emphasizes collaboration, MTSS implementation, and strong relationships with students, families, and staff to promote academic achievement and well-being across campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
• At least 3 years as a Teacher of Record or in a student-facing leadership or program role.
• At least 2 years serving as a Grade Level Chair or equivalent role.
• Experience in coaching or leading adults.
• Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback.
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
• Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once.
• Ability to analyze data and craft proposals that support students.
• Engage in difficult conversations.
• Demonstrates skills in conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Collect, maintain, and analyze student data to assess progress, identify trends, and drive strategic planning and continuous improvement of campus systems.
• Manage, coach, and develop Grade Level Chairs and other campus stakeholders through regular coaching and growth plans.
• Manage student discipline referrals by investigating, responding, and resolving cases promptly in alignment with policy.
• Develop, implement, and monitor MTSS interventions addressing academic, behavioral, and social emotional needs.
• Build strong relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners to support campus needs.
• Serve as a liaison between Grade Level Chairs, campus leadership, and key stakeholders.
• Support campus culture vision by aligning systems and initiatives to campus priorities.
• Manage and evaluate programs that promote academic achievement and social-emotional wellness.
