Job summary

CJ Schwan’s in North East, PA is seeking a Production Supervisor - 2nd shift to lead our manufacturing associates on the frozen pizza line. You will direct production, packaging, and bakery operations to meet company and USDA requirements, while managing hiring and performance.

The role emphasizes safety, QA/HACCP documentation, scheduling flexibility, and close collaboration with USDA on-site. Required education and experience, plus strong communication, help maintain a safe, efficient work

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 4 years related work experience, preferably in food industry manufacturing, with minimum 2 years in supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• SAP experience beneficial.
• Intermediate knowledge of robotics used in production.
• Ability to supervise line employees effectively.
• Strong communication and reasoning skills for a positive work environment.
• Ability to read/interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Directs production, packaging, and bakery on production lines to ensure company and USDA requirements are met.
• Interviews and hires qualified employees, following EEO guidelines.
• Manages employee performance, conducts appraisals, and administers disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensures safety, housekeeping, policy administration, and cost control; handles employee relations.
• Adjusts daily work schedule to meet production requirements.
• Collaborates with USDA on-site to meet company, state, and federal food-safety requirements.
• Reviews and signs off on QA and HACCP documentation.
• Checks product quality, usage, waste, counts, and weights to assure performance.
