Job summary

CJ Schwan’s in Gahanna, Ohio, is hiring a Production Supervisor - 2nd shift to lead manufacturing associates and ensure USDA and company standards are met. You will interview and hire qualified employees, coach performance, and manage safety, quality, and cost controls on the production line.

The ideal candidate has at least 4 years in food manufacturing with 2 years in supervision, knowledge of SAP, and familiarity with robotics.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 4+ years in related work, preferably in food manufacturing; 2+ years in supervision.
• SAP experience beneficial.
• Intermediate knowledge of robotics used in production.
• Ability to supervise line employees.
• Strong communication and reasoning skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals; write routine reports.
• Knowledge of USDA, FDA, and BRC regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs production and packaging on lines to meet company and USDA requirements.
• Interviewing and hiring qualified employees following EEO guidelines.
• Manages employee performance, conducts appraisals, and administers disciplinary action.
• Responsible for safety, housekeeping, policy administration, and cost control.
• Adjust daily work schedule to meet production requirements.
• Work with USDA representative to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Review and sign off on QA and HACCP documentation.
• Check product quality, usage, waste, counts and weights.
