Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is hiring a Production Supervisor - 2nd shift at our North East plant in Pennsylvania. You’ll lead manufacturing associates, ensure USDA and safety compliance, and drive quality on production lines.

Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring, supervising performance, and coordinating schedules while maintaining cost control and regulatory standards. A strong focus is placed on safety, training, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Directs production, packaging, and bakery to meet USDA and company requirements.
• Interviews and hires qualified employees following EEO guidelines.
• Manages performance, conducts appraisals and disciplinary actions.
• Ensures safety, housekeeping, policy administration and cost control.
• Coordinates with USDA on-site for food safety compliance.
• Reads/writes routine reports and understands safety/maintenance docs.

We are hiring aProduction Supervisor - 2nd shiftto lead our manufacturing associates at our frozen pizza plant inNorth East, PA.We are formerly known asBetter Baked Foods.

What you will do:

• Directs production, packaging, and bakery on production lines to ensure company and USDA requirements are met
• Being responsible for interviewing and hiring qualified employees, following EEO and Affinitative Action guidelines
• Manages employee performance and skills development conducts performance appraisals and administers disciplinary action, including employment terminations when necessary
• Responsible for safety, housekeeping, policy administration, employee relations, cost control, and problem-solving
• Adjust daily work schedule as needed to meet production requirements.
• Works closely with USDA representative on site to ensure all company, state, and federal requirements for food safety are met
• Reviews and signs off on all Quality Assurance and HACCP documentation
• Checks product quality, usage, waste, product counts, and weights to assure performance and attainment

What we look for:

• Education: High School diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of4 years related work experience preferably in food industry manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience, with minimum of 2 years in supervision
• SAP experience beneficial
• Intermediate knowledge of robotics used in production
• Ability to effectively supervise line employees
• Strong communication and reasoning skills to provide a positive work environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Knowledge of USDA, FDA, and BRC regulations preferred

What We Offer:

The base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $99,000 annually, with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.
