Job summary

dfa seeks an experienced maintenance technician for a second shift to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production, processing, and packaging equipment and related utilities in a manufacturing setting in New York. The role requires following safety procedures, reading schematics, and supporting installation of new equipment.

Ideal candidates will have 2–4 years of maintenance/electrical experience and familiarity with GMP, documentation, and continual improvement practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade school/technical school preferred in electrical, PLC/HMI, mechanical, welding/fabrication, refrigeration, plumbing.
• 2–4 years of maintenance, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, PLC, HVAC experience.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
• Certification and/or license may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on production, processing, and packaging equipment and related utility systems following safety procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections to assess reliability and performance.
• Read, analyze, and interpret electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders.
• Support installation of new equipment.
• Assist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Complete work orders promptly with high quality, documented records.
• Maintain safe working conditions and comply with GMP and sanitation requirements.
• Stay up to date on equipment, technology, and methods; identify improvement opportunities.
