Job summary

DFA seeks a maintenance technician for second or third shift to service production, processing, and packaging equipment. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, read schematics, and assist with installing new equipment, all under limited supervision.

Required: high school diploma, 2–4 years in manufacturing maintenance, PLC/HMI familiarity, and safety discipline. Ammonia refrigeration experience is a plus; strong English communication needed. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade/technical school preferred in electrical, PLC/HMI, mechanical, etc.
• 2–4 years of maintenance, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, or HVAC experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and service manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned, unplanned, and emergency maintenance on production, processing, and packaging equipment and related systems.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and routine inspections for reliability and performance.
• Read and interpret technical procedures, schematics, service manuals, and work orders.
• Support installation of new equipment.
• Assist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Complete work orders promptly with high-quality documentation.
• Utilize hand/power tools, meters, and material handling equipment safely.
• Maintain communication with other departments and management.
• Document repairs and required information per SOPs.
• Stay current on new products, equipment, and techniques.
• Identify process improvements and assist with purchasing of parts.
• Maintain safe working conditions and GMP compliance.
